About Bulu
Run by people who’d trust it with their own pets.
“Bulu” is Malay for fur. We opened in 2019 in Setia Alam after our founder’s cat hated every boarding place she tried. We built the one we wished existed.

Our story
A calm second home, on purpose.
Our founder, Aini, was a groomer who spent years watching pets arrive at boarding places stressed and leave sick. Rows of cages. Cats beside barking dogs. One carer for forty animals.
So she built Bulu around three ideas: every guest gets a real room, cats and dogs never share air or corridors, and every owner hears from us twice a day. Six years on, most of our guests are repeat bookings, and many arrive wagging or purring.
We’re small on purpose. With one carer for every eight guests, day and night, nobody gets lost in the crowd.

The team
The people your pet will meet.
Every carer is trained in pet first aid and cat-friendly or dog-friendly handling. You’ll learn their names, and they’ll learn your pet’s.

Aini Zulkifli
Founder and head groomer
Opened Bulu in 2019 after her own cat hated every boarding place she tried. 11 years grooming; certified master groomer.

Mei Ling Tan
Head of cat care
A former vet nurse with seven years around nervous cats. She notices a skipped meal before the bowl is cold.

Faizal Ibrahim
Daycare and walks lead
Trained in canine behaviour and pet first aid. He reads dog body language so the play groups run smoothly.

Dr Nadia Rahman
Partner veterinarian
BVSc (UPM). Visits every Thursday for health checks, is on call 24 hours, and takes any emergency from Bulu.
Cleanliness
How we keep every room spotless and safe.
Pet owners ask about cleanliness first, and they should. This is our routine, every day of the year, Raya included.

Between every guest
Room reset
Bedding removed, every surface scrubbed with a veterinary-grade, cat-safe disinfectant, left for the full contact time, then aired out.
Every day
Litter, floors and bowls
Litter scooped three times a day, floors mopped twice, and bowls washed and sanitised after every meal.
Every wash
Laundry at 60°C
Fragrance-free detergent, hot wash and sun-dried when possible. Your pet’s own blanket stays with them.
All the time
Separate wings and clean air
Cats and dogs never share corridors, doors or air. The cat wing has HEPA purifiers and calming diffusers.
At check-in
Health screening
Vaccination cards, a nose-to-tail check and a look for fleas and ticks. A guest who is unwell is moved to a quiet isolation room, and we call you.
Every month
Pest control and deep clean
A licensed pest-control visit and a full deep clean of the wings, while the rooms are empty.
Health first
A vet who knows your pet’s name.
Our partner vet clinic is six minutes from the door. Dr Nadia visits every Thursday for health checks, is on call 24 hours, and has the full care card of every guest.
